About Us

The Erie-Millcreek Church of the Nazarene was established in October 1983 and is a part of the International Church of the Nazarene. The Millcreek church is located in Northwestern Erie, just west of the Erie International Airport.

The Millcreek Church is a small community church that welcomes any and all who wish to know the Lord. Our simple values and friendly atmosphere make this the perfect place to worship the Lord and enjoy fellowship in His name.

Our church is pastored by Rev. Paul Jones. Pastor Paul is a native of the Erie area and has answered God's call to help build His kingdom by leading us on the path to holiness. Our church's mission statement was devloped with the input from each member of the congregation and states that:

We, the people of the Millcreek Church of the Nazarene:

> Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost and dying.

>Bring Christians to a maturity in Christ-like holiness.

>Pray to Build God's Kingdom in our community and reach out to those around the world.

As part of the Nazarene Church, there are 8 general statements that are the foundation of our belief system and shared among many of the world's Christians:

1) We believe in one God-the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

2) We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.

3) We believe that man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually.

4) We believe that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.

5) We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.

6) We believe that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

7) We believe that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.

8) We believe that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.

If these simple statements make sense to you, then come join us in spreading His word. If they don't make sense to you, we would love for you to contact us so that we might help you understand and help you to know Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Galatians 2:20 (NIV)

I have been crucified

with Christ and I no

longer live, but Christ

lives in me. The life I now

live in the body, I live by

faith in the Son of God,

who loved me and gave

himself for me.
